DONOVAN TRIBUTES LEONARD & MARIANNE ON RECORD STORE DAY

I am honoured to present my Live Tribute to Leonard Cohen and his muse Marianne.
I recorded SO LONG  MARIANNE in Scandanavia where Marianne was born (Oslo).
The Danish audience singing the chorus with me knew all about their soul sister Marianne and Leonard, how the two young lovers, the poet and his muse, in their Greek island, captured the hearts of lovers. It was deeply moving for me that night.
Especially as Jan Christian who filmed the video, was a dear friend of Marianne in Norway and was with her as she prepared to depart  this mortal coil. Jan contacted Leonard who sent Marianne a message via Jan and Jan saw Marianne smile as she left the planet.
The message to Marianne was of course that Leonard would be following soon  after.
And that came to pass.
The world said a fond farewell to Marianne and her Poet, and I got to sing them on their way. Thank you Leo and Mari and all who wander the ways of the Poets.
