DONOVAN’S SIXTIES SUPERGIRL SONG
Donovan’s 1967 Power Rock Song portrait of a New Age SuperGirl to come has an uncanny resemblance to the new SuperGirl movie character played by Milly Alcock.
The Movie out June 26.
Donovan described his Sixties track as supporting the New Independent Woman of the Sixties.
He says:
‘‘Nothing has changed – it’s 60 years after my song – and women are still attacked for being a woman. Milly Alcock, the new SuperGirl actress gets personally slammed and she Slams back on this ComicBookCast2‘
Donovan says,
‘Yeah Milly, tell the young women of today
DON’T FAKE IT – JUST TAKE IT!
Donovan releases June 26 2026 a Short of his 1967 Girl Power classic BELOW AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE.
Donovan comically describes the chorus line as the Super Dog Krypto’s love for SuperGirl
‘She’s my SuperGirl and I love her‘
This year of 2026 where Milly Alcock is SuperGirl is also the 60th birthday of Donovan’s 1966 album SUNSHINE SUPERMAN, the single of the same name was number one on the Billboard Chart.
Donovan says,
‘I created the song title SUNSHINE SUPERMAN to announce the New Age Superman to come, like GB Shaw’s play MAN & SUPERMAN, which humorously illustrates the theories of the philosopher Frederick Nietzsche that humanity will evolve to Superman status, and that it is women, rather than men, who drive the process‘.
